Care Instructions For Your Extensions

Shampooing and Styling

  • #1 rule to follow when brushing or combing out your extensions, ALWAYS hold your hair in place with one hand at the installation point and carefully brush it with the other hand from root to end. This process should always be done with extra care as to not harm the integrity  of your hair or disturb the point of installation on your head.

  • Use only sulfate free and paraben free, salon quality hair care products.

  • To avoid extra tangling, brush your hair out before shampooing, do not rub your ends together while washing and always use conditioner.

  • Only use purple shampoo on your extension hair that I have approved.

  • Gently squeeze out any excess water and wrap the length of your hair with a cotton towel. Continue to squeeze your hair until it is damp (no longer soaking wet).

  • Use a leave-in conditioner and a wide tooth comb or wet brush to gently comb out your hair while it's wet.

  • Blow dry your hair in sections, using a brush once your hair is 80% dry. Do not rough dry your hair.

  • Finish styling with a flat iron or curling iron but don't forget to use a heat protectant to protect your extensions and natural hair, avoid using heat over 300 degrees.

  • Give yourself extra styling time when your extensions are newly installed, it will take some time to adjust to your new routine.

Daily Care

  • Brush your hair daily and remember to hold the base of your scalp where your extensions are attached to your natural hair and brush with your other hand from root to end.

  • Use a conditioning oil daily to keep your extensions from tangling or drying out.

Sleeping

  • Wear your hair in a low braid or loose bun while sleeping.

  • NEVER go to bed with your hair wet.

  • Sleeping with a silk pillowcase and a silk headband is preferred.

Sunshine and Swimming

  • Avoid sunscreens that contain Avobenzone or Octocrylene to avoid a peach/orange discoloration that cannot be removed.

  • Avoid getting your hair wet while swimming. If you  engage in swimming, wet your hair first with clean water, place hair in a low braid, and rinse your hair immediately after leaving the water.
